A motorist badly injured after falling from his car on the M2, has left hospital.

Daniel Irwin was airlfted to the Royal London Hospital following the incident on June 19.

The 22-year-old suffered burns to his arms, legs and back, plus cuts to his face and head.

Traffic was brought to a standstill for up to three hours on the coastbound carriageway between Chatham and Gillingham.

Mr Irwin, who is currently unemployed, left hospital on Tuesday afternoon and is currently staying at his mum Melanie’s home in Kingfisher Drive, Iwade.

“The doctors seem happy with him and he is going back to the Royal London on Tuesday to have his dressings changed.”

The 46-year-old added that her son had “not really talked” about how he came to fall from the car and was resting after being released from hospital.
