A cash-strapped couple who threw open their wedding to sponsors are counting down the days until they say “I do”.

Stacy Burnett, 30, and Daniel Webb 28, appealed for business support to help cover the costs via the News Extra back in April.

The mum-of-one had already bought her wedding dress and two bridesmaids’ outfits in anticipation of booking their nuptials this year but rising costs meant they had to put their plans on hold.

They even moved into Stacy’s mum’s home in Barrow Grove, Sittingbourne, to save money. Now, thanks to several companies getting in touch, their dreams are about to become a reality.

The pair will exchange rings, provided by Bella Diamond in London, at Bobbing Church on October 19 before being driven by All Kent Wedding Cars to the reception venue – The Coniston Hotel in London Road, Sittingbourne.

Photographer Ellen King, from Rainham, will be on hand to capture every moment of the red and black-themed event and a total of 80 cupcakes have been supplied by Sugar Darling Cupcakes, which is based in Whitstable, for guests to tuck into.

Wedding planner Julie Finlay, from West Malling, has also been there every step of the way to help make the run up to their big day as stress free as possible.

No florists stepped forward to offer their services so the flowers have been bought by Daniel’s mum Alison – and one of Stacy’s friends is making a cutting cake as a wedding gift.

In all, the couple estimate they have only had to spend £800 out of their own pocket on things such as suit hire, invitations, church fees, a small charge for the wedding cars and favours.

Stacy, who will be given away on the day by her mum Mandy, said: “We’d just like to say a massive thank you to all those involved, especially the paper.

“It wouldn’t have been possible without everyone offering their help.

“We didn’t agree to any company logos or names being pinned to clothes but we will have table at The Coniston with business cards and leaflets of all the businesses.

“They will also be thanked in our order of service and were named in the invites we sent out.

“I’m so excited I really can’t wait. It’s getting closer and I’m just waiting for things to turn up. Daniel’s very much looking forward to it, too.”
