Labour councillor Angela Harrison chosen to stand at the next election in Sittingbourne and Sheppey

By Hayley Robinson

Councillor Angela Harrison will replace Derek Wyatt as Labour's Sittingbourne and Sheppey candidate at the next election.

Cllr Harrison, who represents Sheerness West, was one of three women who put themselves forward as candidates.

She was chosen by local Labour Party members after being grilled at a meeting in Sheerness yesterday evening and at tonight's meeting in Sittingbourne.

The other candidates were Gill Sones, a teacher from Heathfield in Sussex, and Susan Wise, a Lewisham borough councillor.
