Man arrested on suspicion of arson after fire in Osprey Court, Sittingbourne

A man is in custody being quizzed by police after being arrested on suspicion of arson.

Fears were raised for a man's safety after a small fire in a property in Osprey Court, Sittingbourne.

The police were called to the house around 3.30pm on Wednesday, September 20 after concerns were raised about the man's safety.

A man was arrested after the extinguished fire was discovered by the officers.

Two fire engines were sent at just before 4pm but did not need to take action as the blaze was already out.

One witness claimed that “the police had to gain entry to the property by using a battering ram”.
