New Sittingbourne forward Jordan Gallagher makes it two goals in two games in Alan Turvey Trophy win over Ramsgate

New Sittingbourne forward Jordan Gallagher has made a flying start to life at Woodstock Park.

Gallagher scored his second goal in as many games as Brickies beat Ramsgate 2-1 in the Alan Turvey Trophy. Tom Carlse scored the opener.

He also netted on his debut in the 4-1 defeat at Whyteleafe on Saturday to hit double figures for the season, having struck nine times for Lordswood in Southern Counties East.

Brickies boss Nick Davis said: “Lordswood didn’t want him to go but we put seven days in and he was keen to come. He brings strength and pace and wants to progress.

“He thinks he can play in the Ryman League and we’ve given him a chance. He’s predominantly been a left-sided winger but he’s scored goals as a No.9 and has all the attributes to play there.

“We are blessed with decent wingers at the club, so I’d like to see him up there in that No.9 role.”

Gallagher replaces summer signing Remell Davis who has moved to Southern Counties East Sheppey on dual-registration, scoring on his debut.

Sittingbourne, who lost their unbeaten record at Whyteleafe, host Horsham on Saturday (3pm). They go into the weekend with no injuries, boosted by the return of Josh Wisson.
