Armed police scrambled after ‘gunshots heard’ in Minster

Armed police were called to a village following reports gunshots were heard.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after the disturbance in Church Street, Minster last night.

Police, paramedics and the fire service were at the incident, which unfolded at about 9.20pm.

It is understood that firearms officers were deployed as a precaution, following reports of what were believed to be gunshots.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to a disturbance at a property in Church Street, Minster at 9.20pm on Tuesday February 6.

“A 48-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remains in custody while enquiries are ongoing.”
