Paul Connell died after falling from cliff in Ramsgate as thousands raised in memory

A man who died after falling from a cliff has been named as Paul Connell.

More than £2,500 has been donated by by friends, family and well-wishers after a fundraising page was set up by Elliot Austin, who described Mr Connell as a "massive part in my life".

Mr Connell died after falling from cliffs in Ramsgate on Tuesday.

Mr Austin said: "You were one of the best mates anyone could have asked for.

"You played a massive part in my life, and just thinking of you and the silly things you did makes me smile.

"I'm trying not to be sad and just happy that I had you in my life and the privilege to call you a friend."

The JustGiving page has received £2,680 so far in donations.

Mr Austin added: "Paul was a friend to so many, for all those that knew him he filled their lives with happiness and laughter .

"Let's help his family at this sad time to give him the send off that he deserves."

Emergency services were called on Tuesday to the beach near Victoria Parade in Ramsgate, where Mr Connell, who was in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
