A man has evaded police capture after jumping onto the railway line - despite helicopters being called in to search for him.
Officers were called at 4pm to reports of a man trespassing on the tracks at Margate station.
British Transport Police tried to talk to the man but he made off on the railway line towards Broadstairs station.
He was last seen on the track near Norman Road heading towards Broadstairs but has evaded police despite a search by helicopters.
Network Rail turned off power at the station and Southeastern train services were brought to a standstill.
All lines have now reopened but the incident has caused disruption on trains between Margate and Ramsgate.
Train services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 50 minutes or revised.
Southeastern had earlier tweeted the trespasser "is still walking towards Broadstairs and as such the power is still off.
"Trains can run as far as #Margate from Faversham but they are now starting to be delayed from Sittingbourne down."
High Speed trains are being disrupted due to the incident at Margate and electrical supply issues at Ashford International.
Passengers can use London underground services at no extra cost between Southeastern terminals to help complete their journey.
Network Rail said disruption is expected until at least 7pm.
