Firefighters use fans to fight fire in flats at Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate

Firefighters used a special ventilation fan to clear smoke from various floors of a 15-storey building after a blaze at around 6.15pm last night.

The fire started in a rubbish chute between the first and ground floor of flats in Newcastle Hill in Ramsgate.

Crews used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire.
