Daleks in Manhattan will be leaving Hornby’s Margate factory this Christmas and taking the country by storm.

Doctor Who fans will be snapping up Dalek Caan and Dalek Sec, two of the Doctor’s arch enemies.

The alien robots will be available as an Airfix kit, selling for £29.99.

Each one has special electronics to bring the metallic monsters to life. The daleks stand 14cm tall and come with a backdrop almost double their size.

Kits include a stage for fans to recreate the epic scenes from the Daleks in Manhattan episode, plus paints and glues so model makers can make perfect replicas.

Airfix marketing manager Darrell Burge said: “The first Doctor Who product Welcome Aboard features the Tardis, David Tennant’s Doctor and Martha Jones.

“It is seen as one of the best Airfix products ever in terms of quality and is widely distributed throughout the UK, helping to put Airfix back firmly on the map.

“The sales generated have been very impressive and we expect even greater things from the Daleks in Manhattan set.”

The launch follows hot on the wheels of the launch of the F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton kit.

It is now two years since Hornby bought the Airfix kit business.
