A mum has been left horrified after a knife was found in a public park.

The woman, who has asked not to be named, said a family member took her children to Dane Park in Margate this afternoon when they made the shock discovery.

"Luckily it was found by an adult not a little innocent child," she said.

"A family member took my children to Dane Park to look for painted rocks and came across the knife.

"I am disgusted to think it may have been used for a crime and that a child could have found it."

Police have been contacted for more information.
