Man dies in head-on crash with truck

AN 82-YEAR-OLD man was killed after a head-on collision with a lorry near Kent International Airport.

The crash happened just past the Laundry Road junction near Minster at about 10.30am on Monday.

The man, who was driving a Ford Focus, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been named.

The lorry driver, who was in a British registered vehicle, suffered a minor head injury.

Police closed the A253 from the Lord of the Manor roundabout to the Laundry Road turn-off near Minster.

Officers from Kent Police's serious crash investigation unit are investigating the tragedy.
