Motorcyclist dies in crash on A299 Thanet Way at St Nicholas at Wade, Ramsgate

A motorcyclist has died following a serious crash on the Thanet Way.

The man, in his 60s, was riding on the A299 Thanet Way near St Nicholas at Wade, Thanet, yesterday afternoon.

The single-vehicle crash happened on the coastbound carriageway between the A253 Monkton roundabout, and A28 Canterbury Road, St Nicholas At Wade roundabout.

Police were called to the scene at about 4.15pm, where they were joined by paramedics and fire crews.

The rider of a silver Aprilia motorcycle died from his injuries at the scene.

The road was closed for at least six hours following the crash, but has since reopened.

Officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for information, and asking motorists to check for dashcam footage that may help them with their investigation.
