Both of the officers suffered leg injuries, which required treatment at a local hospital.

Two knives were found inside a bag Mitchell is reported to have been carrying but the officers were not stabbed.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he admitted each offence.

He was then further remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court, on a date that is yet to be determined.
