Tributes are pouring in for a young man allegedly murdered at a shopping centre - named locally as Carl Gregory.
The 20-year-old, from Ramsgate, was found dead near Westwood Cross in Broadstairs yesterday evening.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of his murder and remain in police custody
It is understood that the victim and the suspects were known to each other.
Mr Gregory's grandmother took to social media today to ask for privacy.
Joyce Coomber Sewell, 61, posted the Facebook status about her grandson's tragic death.
She said: "My wonderful grandson Carl Gregory was killed at Westwood Cross in Broadstairs last night.
"Please respect my family's need of privacy. Thank you for your understanding."
Friends have expressed their shock and posted messages of condolence on social media.
Luisa Carr said: "Omg such heartbreaking shocking news RIP Carl. Another angel taken too early."
Karrina Brock said: "Woke up to the news of your passing and I can't believe it!
"Will miss the memories of your rubbish curious Carl jokes, and the most memorable camping trip I've ever had!
"So many good memories from school with you. R.I.P Carl Gregory, sleep tight. You'll be missed."
The head of sixth form at the Royal Harbour Academy, where Mr Gregory studied when it was known as the Marlowe Academy, also paid tribute.
Ollie Donohoe said: "Carl Gregory was a student at the Marlowe Academy, successfully completing his sixth form studies in 2015, and we offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
"Carl was a highly respected student and popular with both his peers and staff.
"Carl was very much involved in numerous aspects of the school, representing the school in sport and taking part in many whole school events.
"Carl was a role model to others and will be sadly missed."
Police were called to The Link outlet in Margate Road just after 10pm yesterday after Mr Gregory suffered serious injuries outside the Hobbycraft store.
Ambulance crews were also sent, but Mr Gregory was declared dead at the scene.
Officers investigating the death arrested two men aged 20 and 27 on suspicion of murder.
Police and forensics officers remained at the scene to collect evidence until around 2.30pm today.
The section of car park serving stores including Smyths Toy Superstore, Mountain Warehouse, Hobbycraft, Mamas & Papas, Poundland, Thomson, Vodafone and Card Factory was cordoned off while officers investigated.

Lucy Hewitt, 24, said: "I'm shocked and speechless.
"You don't expect that to be shut, and for the reason it's closed as well."
Westwood Cross manager Francesca Donovan said: "Although the incident happened at a neighbouring retail centre, we are helping police with their inquiries and helping with any CCTV footage the cameras in our centre may have picked up.
"Our sympathies are with the family of the man who died.
"We are also assisting shoppers with directions and parking issues."
