Woman arrested after Ramsgate dying man's funeral fund stolen

A suspected burglar has been arrested after the £3,000 a dying man had been saving for his own funeral was stolen.

The cash was taken from Terry Price's home in Leopold Road, Ramsgate, after it was broken into earlier this month.

The money - which he had kept as he "didn't want to burden anyone with having to meet cost of his funeral and wake" - was swiped from the 66-year-old's property.

This morning a 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A police spokesman said: "Detectives have since been carrying out forensic investigation, as well as house-to-house and CCTV enquiries in the area.

"As part of ongoing enquiries, we are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that day to contact us."

Mr Price, who was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer four years ago, previously told KentOnline he "just broke down" when he realised his home had been targeted.
