Margate extended their lead at the top of the Ryman League Premier Division to seven points with a 3-1 win over Bognor Regis Town.
With Maidstone in FA Trophy action Gate took their chance to edge further ahead of their Kent rivals.
Luke Moore gave Gate a flying start, opening the scoring on seven minutes after getting in behind the Town defence and slotting the ball past keeper Chris Winterton.
Gate continued to press with Lewis Taylor seeing a shot cleared off the line from a corner and Jamie Taylor having a shot well saved by Winterton.
At the other end Ollie Pearce fired wide when in a good position for Bognor and then saw a header saved by Gate keeper Nikki Ball as two chances to level went begging.
And the visitors were left to rue the missed chances as Gate doubled their lead from the penalty spot.
Ryan Moss was fouled by Winterton in the box and Lewis Taylor blasted in the spot-kick to send Gate into the break two ahead.
Bull saved well at the start of the second half as Bognor looked to get back into the game, but it was Gate that continued to dominate.
Tambeson Eyong and Ryan Moss both saw efforts well saved by Winterton, with Moore firing the rebound from the latter into the side netting.
But Moss wasn't to be denied again, scoring Gate's third in the 74th minute, bundling home substitute's Zak Attwood's cross from the left.
But the scoring wasn't finished, as Dan Sackman scored a last-minute consolation for the visitors.
