THREE men have appeared in court this week in connection with the £53 Securitas depot raid at Tonbridge in February.

Ian Bowrem, 42, of Ottery St Mary, Devon, and Jeremy Bailey, 31, of Manor Road, Basingstoke, made their first appearance before magistrates in Maidstone on Monday.

They did not enter pleas to a charge that they laundered stolen cash worth approximately £1m. The offence is said to have taken place on June 23.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on September 20.

Keith Borer, 53, of Hampstead Lane, Yalding, near Maidstone, accused of handling £6,100 of stolen cash, appeared at Maidstone magistrates on Tuesday.

The bench committed the case for a pre-trial hearing at the Central Criminal Court in London on October 3. Borer, who denies the charge, was granted a continuation of his conditional bail albeit with revised conditions.

Eleven people have previously been charged over the £53m raid at the depot.
