Man in dock over £53m Securitas robbery

A 29-year-old man appeared in court today charged with offences relating to the £53million Securitas depot robbery in Tonbridge two years ago.

Paul Raymond Allen, of no address but previously of Huntersfield Close, Lordswood, Chatham, faced magistrates in Maidstone following his arrest by Kent Police yesterday.

Allen faces charges in connection with the robbery on February 22, 2006. These include conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to possess a firearm.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey in London on Friday, February 8.

Earlier this week, five men received minimum jail terms of between 10 and 15 years for their part in the robbery. Two other men were acquitted at the Old Bailey.
