Cyclist hit by sports car on A228 Maidstone Road near Hop Farm

Police are searching for a sports car driver after a cyclist was taken to hospital.

The rider was travelling along the A228 Maidstone Road near Five Oak Green yesterday (Tuesday) (Nov 2) when a car travelling in the same direction hit them.

The crash happened shortly before 2.40pm between the Badsell Road roundabout and Paddock Wood near the Hop Farm.

Police have now issued an appeal for witnesses.

A police spokesman said: "Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the collision and would like to trace and speak to the driver of the car, which has been described as a small tan or gold sports car, as they may have important information regarding the incident."

The cyclist was injured and had to be taken to hospital.
