Two charged with false imprisonment after 'man forced into van' in Paddock Wood

Two men have been charged with false imprisonment after a man was reportedly forced into a van in the Paddock Wood area.

Police were called at 5.20pm on Wednesday, June 14 to reports of an altercation in Maidstone Road.

It is alleged a man was assaulted and then forced to get inside a van.

At 7.50pm officers were called to Mascalls Court Road to an "incident" believed to have involved the same suspects, vehicle and victim.

Police later identified and located the victim, who was safe and well. It is believed he is known to the suspects.

Marcus Lawrence, 26, of Henwood Green Road, Pembury, and James Webb, 27, of Maidstone Road, Matfield were later arrested.

Appearing before Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, they were both charged with false imprisonment and remanded in custody.

They are due to appear next at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, July 14.
