Chelmsford City v Tonbridge Angels

TONBRIDGE Angels return to league action on Saturday with a trip to face Chelmsford City in the Ryman Premier Division.

Angels followed up their disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Staines last weekend with a 1-0 defeat to Gravesend & Northfleet in the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday.

Although manager Tony Dolby was satisfied with the performance against the Fleet, he will be concerned that his side have failed to find the net in the last two games.

Against Staines, Angels worked hard to get back into the game after going two goals down, but failed to seriously test Matt Lovett in the visitors’ goal.

Chelmsford are currently ninth in the table, but Tonbridge enjoyed a victory over them in September and will be looking to complete a league double. The home side have been on an amazing run of form in recent months, lifting themselves from the bottom of the league to mid-table.

Dolby believes his side is due a change in fortune and is hoping for a bit more luck than his team have been getting lately.

He spoke to KM-fm sports editor Simon Watts ahead of the match…
