TASK force officers investigating a series of cash machine thefts across Kent have arrested and charged a fifth man with conspiracy to steal.

Kent Police officers arrested Matthew Cook, aged 28, of Brook Road, Tunbridge Wells, at his home address.

He was later charged with conspiracy to steal a cash machine in Burford, Oxfordshire, on April 12 this year and appeared before magistrates in Oxford today.

Cook was remanded in custody to reappear at Oxford Crown Court on August 15.

On July 13 task force detectives arrested four men who subsequently appeared in court charged with conspiracy to steal cash machines.
