Tunbridge Wells: Power cut leaves some homes without electricity

Homes in Tunbridge Wells have been left without electricity because of a power cut this morning.

UK Power Networks was first alerted to an issue, which is affecting 102 homes, at 10am.

Those homes are in the north of the town, in and around William Street.

A faulty piece of underground equipment needs to be replaced and engineers are currently carrying out repairs.

In a statement UK Power Networks said: "Additional staff have been dispatched to deal with the fault and we aim to restore power by 8pm this evening.

"Our community support vehicle is also being sent to site to assist customers, in particular the most vulnerable, affected by the problem. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
