Road closed after crash

One of the main routes into Kent was closed early today after a three-vehicle crash in a village.

A lorry, van and car were in collision on the A21 at its junction with Station Road, Hurst Green, at 7.13am.

The road was still closed at 10am, with police diverting queueing traffic onto neighbouring roads.

Firefighters with rescue equipment were on the scene and several people were hurt, but a Sussex Police spokesman said: "As far as I can tell, no one has life-threateneing injuries."

The lorry was travelling south-bound and the car and van were travelling north when the accident happened.
