Busy Bees nursery in Tunbridge Wells science week

A range of exciting experiments and a robotic character greeted young scientists at a nursery in Tunbridge Wells.

Children at Busy Bees nursery in Silverdale Road celebrated the start of British Science Week by trying their hand at early years’ science, maths, technology and engineering.

They took part in a range of fun interactive and educational experiments and even made their very own volcano.

The excited youngsters poured baking powder and food colouring into a bottle before watching the colourful eruption.

The nursery's toddlers experimented with the effect of mixing colours and turning liquids into solids and those in the baby room enjoyed creating bath bombs which they watched fizz in water.

Paula Chapman, nursery manager, said: “The staff look forward to British Science Week as much as the children do because it’s a chance to come up with some relevant and captivating ways to demonstrate how exciting maths, science and technology can be.

"The children are fascinated by all the different experiments and some of these magical memories will stay with children for years and years.”
