The heartbroken family of a biker who was killed in a rush hour crash have paid tribute to a "truly wonderful person".
Christopher Worthington, 37, died at the scene of the accident on the A229 Staplehurst Road at the bottom of Linton Hill.
The married client service manager, from Jaggard Way in Staplehurst, was riding a yellow Honda motorcycle which collided with a white Ford Transit van travelling in the opposite direction.
Today, his family said: "We have been left devastated by the loss of a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, and son in law. Chris was a kind, loyal, intelligent person who put his family and others first.
"We will miss his ability to make us laugh and smile and his loss has left an unfillable void in all our lives.
"Chris had his whole life ahead of him, and leaves behind a wife and a young son.
"Oliver will grow up without knowing his father and this breaks our hearts, but we will endeavour to make sure he knows what a truly wonderful person Chris was, and how he was loved by his family and friends."
Yesterday an inquest into his death was opened at The Archbishop’s Palace in Maidstone and adjourned until February 10.
A post-mortem examination found he died of multiple injuries.
The crash happened just before 8am on Friday, and police officers closed the road in both directions for more than six hours.
Four ambulances were called and an air ambulance landed nearby, but the efforts of medics were in vain.
Flowers now mark the spot where the road was closed near Butt Green Lane.
