David Cooper, of Matfield, charged with Horsmonden burglaries

A man has appeared in court following a spate of break-ins at properties in Horsmonden.

David Cooper, from Matfield, was charged with six counts of burglary, which happened on Wednesday.

The 46-year-old allegedly stole from properties in Fromandez Drive, Morley Drive, Brenchley Road, Orchard Crescent and Gibbet Lane.

Cooper, of Five Wents, appeared in Maidstone Magistrates' Court today, where he faced a further charge of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court at a later date.
