Catapults and ball bearings seized from boys in Paddock Wood

Two catapults and 62 ball bearings have been seized from two boys following reports they were using them to target wildlife.

The weapons, which also included small metal nuts, were taken away by police an hour after they were allegedly being used near Putlands Sports Centre, in Paddock Wood.

Police were called at around 2.20pm on April 19 after it was alleged they had been aimed at car windows.

Officers from Tunbridge Wells Community Safety Unit attended in an unmarked police vehicle and stopped the suspects in Mascalls Court Road.

A search led to the seizure of the two catapults and 62 ball bearings and some small metal nuts.

The boys’ parents have been contacted and an investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
