Keep the kids entertained this summer with a new programme of family events at Groombridge Place near Tunbridge Wells.

The fourth Combined Ops military spectacular will be taking place this weekend at Headcorn Aerodrome, offering a range of family entertainment on land and in the air.

Thousands of visitors will be flocking to the seaside for the start of the nine-day Herne Bay Festival, featuring a host of free events around the town including a giant family picnic, the monster crab catching competition and a fireworks display.

Whether you’re a hardy hill trekker or prefer a gentle summer stroll, there is something to suit in the fifth Deal Walking Festival, which has organised 23 varied walks over six days.

A floating extravaganza of family fun is taking place in the county this week. Visitors to biennial water spectacular the Hythe Venetian Fete will watch daylight and evening processions of decorated floats along the town’s Royal Military Canal.

Since its launch in 2010, Folkestone Skabour has gone from strength to strength, expanding in size to attract 10,000 visitors last August. This weekend the festival is back for its fourth year with a new name, Folkestone Ska Splash. What's On previews the line-up and chats to Ranking Roger, lead singer of the Beat, among the acts performing.

And we have a bumper bundle of top prizes to be won, including:
