Plans for 350 new homes are agreed

A scheme to build 350 new homes on a former railway works was voted through last night.

Members of Ashford Borough Council's planning committee agreed to pass the scheme for the houses and flats at the town’s disused Hunter Avenue Railway Works.

The scheme had been the subject of a planning wrangle, with members last month voting against it following concerns about over-development and traffic problems.

But members changed their mind after the applicants made amendments such as creating more open space for the proposed estate.
