A 41-year-old man pleaded not guilty to attempted murder when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday.
David Hughes, of Derwent Way, Gillingham, is alleged to have stabbed Yiung Liu, 41, at Century House, Rochester, on December 28 last year.
Hughes was remanded in custody until his trial on September 28.
