Truck driver hunted after pile-up

A ROAD crash caused massive tailbacks in Leybourne, near West Malling, today after a lorry collided with three cars and then sped away from the scene.

The accident occurred in Castle Way at around 7am. Police say a tipper truck smashed into other three vehicles before driving off towards the M20.

The crash caused glass and oil to cover the road and prevented traffic from passing down Castle Way for more than two hours.

The vehicles involved were a Vauxhall Cavalier, a Nova van and a Citroen Xsara. The lorry was an open-backed tipper.

Police want to hear from anyone who can help them trace both the lorry and the driver. Nobody was injured in the incident.
