Victims of death crashes are named

KENT Police have named two men, a car driver and a cyclist, who died in separate road crashes.

Motorist David Burke, 35, from Coniston Close, Gillingham, was killed in a crash on the M2 at about 11pm on Thursday, April 13.

Four days later, cyclist Joseph Saunders, also 35, of Arden Street, Gillingham, died when his bike was in collision with a car.

Mr Burke was driving on the London-bound carriageway between Faversham and Sittingbourne when his Ford Focus was involved in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle.

He was a single man who worked as a civil servant. An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned.

Mr Saunders was riding along the London-bound side of the A2 near Bluewater at Greenhithe when the accident happened. He died at Dartford's Darent Valley Hospital.
