Maidstone: Two men released pending further investigation after double stabbing at Dusk 2 Dawn nightclub

Two men arrested by police after a double stabbing at a nightclub have been released.

The King Street entrance of Dusk 2 Dawn in Maidstone was taped off on Sunday, with forensics teams on the scene, following the attack which happened in the early hours of the morning.

Officers were called at around 4am, where two men were found in the outside area of the club with injuries.

Both victims were taken to a London hospital where they were treated for stab wounds.

It is understood the injuries suffered included a punctured kidney and puncture wounds to the stomach.

Witnesses reported that a man approached the pair looking for drugs, then attacked them after they said they were not interested.

A 29-year-old man from Gravesend and a 28-year-old man from Swanley were arrested on suspicion of assault on Sunday but have now been released, pending further investigation.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident however officers believe the victims and suspects are known to one another.

"A number of people were reported to be in the area at the time of the assault.

"Officers would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that could assist their enquiries.
