After recording five wins in a row in the English National Ice Hockey League South Division 1, Invicta Dynamos suffered a double defeat at the weekend.

The biggest surprise was their 6-3 home loss to the Bristol Pitbulls on Saturday, and then on Sunday they went down 5-2 at leaders the Romford Raiders.

Against Bristol, whom they had already beaten twice this season, the Dynamos suffered a disastrous first period which ended with Kevin Parrish's (pictured) side trailing 4-1 after taking the lead inside the first minute through Ryan Ellis.

The Pitbulls hit back in style through Egidijus Bauba (3) and Shannon Taylor, and then Steve Osman made it 5-1 early in the second period. Ellis reduced the deficit to 5-2 before the start of the final frame, but Bristol wrapped up victory with a sixth goal from Sam Feeney before Callum Fowler scored Dynamos' third goal five minutes from time.

Then, 24 hours later, Dynamos suffered their third road defeat of the season at the hands of the Raiders.

After a goalless first period, Romford led 2-1 by the end of the second period through goals from Anthony Leone and Matt Turner, with Andy Smith on target for Dynamos.

Invicta equalised early in the final period through Callum Best, but the Raiders then stepped up a gear to show why they are top of the table and were rewarded with three more goals from Danny Marshall, Shaun Wallis and JJ McGrath,
