What do you think of Thanet?

It's had a hard time in the press of late.

Apart from losing the Scenic railway to arson, Sir Bob Geldof also had a pop at the district, branding Margate as ‘ugly’ in comparison to the surrounding beaches and offending many residents in the process.

But a council survey has revealed praise for the beaches and the island e of cultural opportunity, with the coming of the multi-million pound Tuner Contemporary gallery a smattering of well-received independent films aleady shot on its shores and a busy little theatre.
