Former Dagenham and Redbridge goalkeeper Chris Lewington has extended his deal with Margate.

The 27-year-old, who joined Blues following Nikki Bull's appointment as manager last month, has signed a contract to stay at Hartsdown Park until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Lewington, who left Colchester United in September, made his debut in the 1-0 Vanarama National League South home win over Gosport Borough on December 19 and has impressed in the five games he has played to date.

Manager Bull admitted he was delighted to have secured Lewington until the end of the season.

He added: “It is clear that in the five games that Chris has played for us how much talent he has. It is obvious that he will go on to become a very important player for us moving forward.”
