Three charged with theft after two Boots stores in Tonbridge and Edenbridge targeted

Three people have been charged after more than £1,000 worth of Boots stock was stolen from two stores.

Around £400 worth of goods were stolen from the shop’s chemist in Edenbridge High Street, near Tonbridge, after two men and a woman entered on Thursday, August 17.

Products worth more than £900 were then also allegedly stolen from another Boots store in Tonbridge High Street just hours later.

Three people were arrested later that day when police stopped a vehicle in Eridge Road, Crowborough.

During the stop, officers also recovered a quantity of pharmaceutical products, including cannabis, in black refuse bags.

Gheorghe Robert-Florentin and Alexandru-pelican Vasile, both of Browning Road in East Ham, Greater London, as well as Violeta Florea, of no fixed address, were charged with two counts of theft.

Robert-Florentin was additionally charged with driving without insurance, driving without a licence and possession of cannabis.

The 33-year-old appeared alongside Vasile, 36, and Florea, 24, at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

All three were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on September 5.
