A 15-stone puppy which escaped from a garden after being spooked by fireworks has been found safe almost two weeks since going missing.
Anxious owner Joe Booth from Ashford spent 13 days searching for Harry, a 13-month-old South African Mastiff, after the dog bolted from Stubbs Cross on bonfire night.
It is believed the large pup had escaped through a hole in the fence after being scared by the sound of fireworks.
At the time, Mr Booth thought Harry might have headed towards Shadoxhurst or Hamstreet to find shelter - but his journey over the past two weeks remains a mystery.
"I got a call saying he'd been walked into Kingsnorth vets, somebody said they found him and the receptionist knew who he was straight away," explained Mr Booth.
"I was just talking to one of my friends about the possibility of him being stolen, and thinking I'd never see him again and now he’s here.
"It’s a complete mystery what he's been up to, but I have my own theory.
"He had lost a little bit of weight, but he wasn’t skin and bones which makes me think he’s been fed, but we will never know unfortunately.
"If only he could talk, it would be a wonderful story no doubt."
He has now been reunited with his family and their other Boerboel Karma who is almost two.
When Mr Booth arrived at the vets, he said Harry was "a bit dazed and confused" but couldn't wait to jump straight in the boot of the car to go home.
He added: "I got him home and he met up with my other dog and went a bit mad then.
"All I know is he’s back and we are pleased."
As for the hole in the fence, Mr Booth said: "We’ve got a tree surgeon coming over to cut all the hedging back so we can assess what needs doing, maybe get some more fencing put up and hopefully he won’t disappear in the future."
