A Frenchman has been fined £3,000 after driving along the M20 at more than 120mph.

Saman Khan, 18, was also banned from UK roads for two years after travelling in a BMW at between 122 and 124mph on the motorway.

South Kent Police say that Khan, a salesman from Paris, was caught speeding just before 9.20am on Sunday between Junctions 11 and 9 on the London-bound carriageway.

Police patrol officers recorded how fast he was going and Khan was charged with dangerous driving and excess speed.

Khan was remanded in custody and appeared before Dover magistrates on Bank Holiday Monday where he was found guilty of dangerous driving.

He was also ordered to take a driving course.
