At least 57 bus services have been cancelled in Ashford today as driver shortages continue to cause problems for Stagecoach.
It is affecting passengers across six routes in the town with many services cancelled at short notice due to problems exacerbated by the coronavirus.
In a statement on Twitter, a Stagecoach spokesperson said: "Due to a severe driver shortage, all town services are subject to major cancellations at short notice sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
They added: "As with many industries across the country, we are continuing to face short-term staffing challenges due to external factors affecting the wider transport and logistics sector.
"As a result, this is having an impact on bus services in Ashford, but our local team are working incredibly hard to keep the majority of our services running.
“We apologise to our customers who have been affected by short-term service changes, and we would like to thank them for their patience while we work to recruit and get new drivers on the road.
"There are still frequent buses on our town services, but we encourage customers to plan ahead and leave a little extra time for their journey.
"Where we do have to make day-to-day changes, we are providing live updates through our Twitter feed @StagecoachSE.”
Routes that have seen the most disruption today are A, B, C, D, G, AD and 666.
