One lane of the M20 was closed following a crash in the contraflow area.
Drivers are being warned to expect long delays following the crash on the London-bound stretch of the M20 between junction 9 for Ashford and junction 8 for Leeds Castle.
Emergency services, including police and ambulance, were called to a single vehicle accident on the motorway.
A woman has been taken to the William Harvey Hospital after sustaining a possible back injury. Her condition is not believed to be serious.
A police spokesman said: "We were called at 2.47pm to a single vehicle collision on the London bound M20, between junctions 9 and 8.
"Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and a woman was taken to a local hospital.
"Her injuries are not believed to be serious."
