Commuters attempting to use Ashford's Drovers roundabout this morning found themselves at a standstill after a car with two passengers hit a lamp-post.
Police and two engines from Ashford fire station were called to the scene in Maidstone Road at 8.21am.
Both the driver and passenger, a man and a woman, were injured in the collision, with the driver reported to have a head and neck injury.
Huge lines of traffic built up at the roundabout, which could have also been a result of the closure of Chart Road for gas main replacement work.
Drivers who usually use the Tank roundabout to enter Ashford were therefore forced to divert their journey and use the 'Cow' roundabout as an alternative route.
Chart Road is expected to be closed for a further three weeks.
