Accident causes M20 tailbacks

An overturned lorry caused long tailbacks on the M20 near Ashford yesterday afternoon.

Kent Police and firefighters attended the incident on the coastbound carriageway of the motorway between Junctions 9 and 10.

Officers were called at 3.42pm following reports that a 3.5 tonne lorry had overturned, closing lanes two and three.

The driver of the lorry was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford suffering what are believed to be minor injuries.
