200 cannabis plants found in property in Flood Street, Mersham, near Ashford

About 200 cannabis plants have been seized from a village property.

On Friday, a raid took place in Flood Street in Mersham, near Ashford, where a large growing operation was uncovered.

About 200 plants were found in the Mersham raid

About 200 cannabis plants as well as packaged cannabis and fertiliser were seized as part of an ongoing investigation.

A 43-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, both from the Romney Marsh area, have since been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

Both were released under investigation while inquiries continue.
