The air ambulance was scrambled to a wooded area on Monday evening after a boy suffered a head injury after falling from a makeshift rope swing.

Residents off Coulter Road in the Washford Farm area of Ashford reported seeing ambulances, police and the helicopter on the estate at around 5pm.

Social media reports said a 14-year-old boy had suffered a head injury after falling from a rope swing in the woods.

He was flown to King's College in London for treatment at the hospital's specialist neurological unit.

The air ambulance was called to the scene. Stock picture.

The woodland where the incident happened is close to the Kestrel Park play area which opened earlier this summer.
