An air ambulance has landed on a playing field in Ashford.

Emergency services, including two ambulances and a private vehicle, were spotted in Merino Way, Chartsfield this afternoon.

According to witnesses, there was a heavy emergency response in the area while a patient was transported from a land ambulance into the aircraft.

The air ambulance, which landed on the playing field off Merino Way, took off shortly after 2pm.

Ambulance spokesman Rich Airy confirmed that an air ambulance landed to assist with an incident at a nearby address, but was unable to comment further.
