A heartbroken dog owner is offering a £1,000 reward in the hunt for her two stolen chihuahuas.

Distraught Susan Brown is putting up the cash for information leading to the safe return of her pets.

Two-year-old Simon and his 13-week-old daughter Betty Boo were taken from her home in Hythe Road, Smeeth, on Friday night.

The tiny pets were in a play pen in the back garden with a third dog, called Matilda, when they were taken.

Mrs Brown, had popped to the paddock near her house to get her horses in at around 5.30pm.

When she returned, Simon and Betty had gone.

She is appealing for any information that will lead to their safe return - and has been handing out flyers asking for help.

Mrs Brown said: "We were at the paddock for 10 minutes maximum.

"I think who ever took them must have been chancers. They took Simon and Betty Boo but left Matilda. Maybe they only had chance to grab two.

"Distraught is an understatement. Simon is a very nervous dog and very weak looking. I'm so worried for his health.

"When he was born he died and had to be resuscitated. I nursed him back to health. I had to really build him back up again.

"Betty Boo is only a puppy and very friendly."

Simon is described as creamy coloured and weighs two-and-a-half pounds. He is often seen with his tongue out.

Betty Boo is similar looking, but a slightly darker cream and weighs two pounds.

Mrs Brown has reported the incident to the police and has printed missing posters.
