A trampoline park has launched an appeal to help reunite an autistic child with their lost toy monkey before Christmas.

Staff at Flip Out in Ashford have created a video of the missing toy playing alone in the centre, which has been viewed more than 14,000 times on social media.

But despite this, the cuddly companion has still not been reunited with its rightful owner.

It comes after a parent called the play centre last month to report that her child had lost the toy and couldn't sleep without it.

At the time, it had not been handed in to lost property.

But when the soft toy was discovered buried in a foam pit two days later, staff were unable to deliver the good news as they didn't have any contact details for its owner.

Instead, they took to social media to spread the message.

General manager Matt Moon, 30, of Brookfield Road, said: "We recently put a video online of a lost monkey teddy. It's gone crazy, it's had thousands of views.

"A parent called us up and said that the child had lost a teddy and couldn't sleep without it.

"They offered us a reward if we found it but we couldn't at the time.

"Two days later it turned up in the foam pit but no one here had taken the mum's contact details.

"We still haven't found the owner, we have no idea who it is.

"There are lots of people behind it. We've had lots of people coming in and asking if it has been claimed.

"We want to get it back to the child before Christmas."
